Operations Technician

About the role

Vertec is a Kansas City technology company building software, automation and manufacturing capabilities for the factories of the future. We run our own production equipment and build prototypes for new products in house.

As Operations Technician you run our production equipment and manufacturing orders, build and test prototypes with our engineers, and keep the shop and facility running well. This is a hands-on role with real input into how we design, build and improve. You report to Vertec's Head of Hardware and Operations.

What you will do

• Run production equipment and carry out manufacturing orders
• Build prototypes and run tests for our engineers, and give feedback and input on engineering designs
• Find and put in place continuous improvements and process improvements
• Write and implement standard operating procedures, and work with engineers on training and onboarding for new team members
• Maintain production equipment, set up maintenance plans, and troubleshoot and fix problems
• Take care of the facility, including organization, layout improvements and working with service companies

What we are looking for

• Hands-on experience running, maintaining or repairing production or shop equipment
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems
• Someone who notices what could work better and follows through on fixing it
• Organized, reliable, and comfortable working in an industrial environment and following safety practices

Schedule and compensation

• Full-time, on-site in Kansas City, MO
• Monday through Friday, with weekends and extended hours when the work requires it
• Salaried, Overtime eligible
